Kharkiv under sustained attack The Novobavarskyi strike was one of at least four attacks on Kharkiv on Monday evening. Earlier, Russian drones hit the city’s Kholodnohirsky district around 4:40 p.m. local time, and again at 5:49 p.m. Hours before the evening attacks, Syniehubov released a report showing that Russian forces had hit 113 settlements across the region over the past week, killing 12 people and wounding 148. Among those, two children were killed, and 11 injured. During that period, Syniehubov said, Russian forces used 27 missiles, eight guided aerial bombs (KABs) and three MLRS across the region. They also launched nearly 880 drones, including 19 Shahed-type Geran-2s, three Lancet loitering munitions, 19 Molniya drones and 50 first-person-view (FPV) drones, as well as 786 other drones whose type is still being identified. In Kharkiv alone, last week’s attacks damaged seven apartment buildings, 16 private homes, seven businesses, power lines, two gas stations, a hypermarket, the city circus, railway infrastructure and about 50 private cars. Separately on Monday, it became known that a 12-year-old boy, Artem Koval, died in the Kyiv hospital from injuries sustained in a Russian drone strike that targeted a crowded park in Nova Vodolaha. The same Oct. 19 strike killed his eight-year-old sister Ariana, along with five other civilians, including an infant killed in her stroller and her mother.
