Russian Drones Strike Zaporizhzhia Mall, Trigger Six Fires, Damage Reported in Odesa

Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with drones overnight on Monday, Sept. 7, striking a shopping center, according to regional authorities.Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration (OVA), said on Telegram that Russian troops had targeted a shopping center and later published footage showing the aftermath.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. “The enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The shopping center was hit. There were no casualties,” Fedorov said.Local Telegram channels reported that the City Mall shopping center was heavily damaged and burned down in the strike. According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS), six fires broke out at the shopping center, covering a total area of 700 square meters (7,500 square feet).All emergency services were deployed to the scene, with 40 rescuers and 10 pieces of equipment involved in clearing the aftermath. The DSNS also reported fires and damage in two districts of the Odesa region following the overnight Russian attack. In Odesa district, two cars and dry grass caught fire, while fences, facades and windows of two residential buildings were damaged.In Izmail district, a residential building was damaged, while two cars and an outbuilding caught fire.
