Russian Drones Strike Dnipro and Samar, Injure 3 and Set Critical Infrastructure Ablaze

Russian drones struck the cities of Dnipro and Samar in Ukraine’s central Dnipropetrovsk region early Thursday, Nov. 5, injuring three people and setting critical infrastructure facilities ablaze, regional authorities reported. Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported on Telegram that Russian forces targeted both cities with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), causing fires at residential and infrastructure sites.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. “The enemy attacked Dnipro and Samar with drones. In Dnipro, the roof of a private house and private garages caught fire. Three people were injured,” Hanzha said. Fires also broke out at critical infrastructure facilities, although authorities did not immediately specify which installations were affected or the extent of the damage. Emergency services were deployed to the strike locations to extinguish the fires and assess the consequences of the attacks. The latest strikes follow a massive Russian barrage across Ukraine on Tuesday, Nov. 3, which damaged critical infrastructure in Dnipro, including a thermal power plant, and triggered emergency electricity cuts in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As Kyiv Post previously reported, the attack also damaged residential buildings, a police station, a hospital and a hospice housing elderly and terminally ill patients. Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s energy and civilian infrastructure as temperatures fall, raising concerns over the resilience of electricity and heating supplies ahead of winter.
