A Russian drone fell onto the territory of a Ukrnafta gas station in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district Thursday morning, sparking a fire and injuring three people, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said. Ukrnafta is a state-owned Ukrainian oil and gas company. The fire and a blaze involving one car were quickly extinguished, Klitschko said. The gas station is located near the Respublika Park shopping mall and an Epicentr store. Videos posted by local channels showed smoke rising from the site following the strike. Initial reports said the drone may have hit near the gas station before later footage indicated a direct hit. Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said emergency crews had been dispatched to the Holosiivskyi district amid reports of casualties. “An ambulance has been called to Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district. Preliminary information indicates there are casualties. Emergency crews are on their way,” Klitschko said. The strike came during a morning Russian drone attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region. Monitoring channels reported unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over multiple areas of the Kyiv region and the capital, including Brovary, Boryspil, Vyshneve, Boyarka, Vydubychi, Teremky, Sviatoshyn, the Solomianskyi district, and northern Kyiv.
