Russian Drone Attacks Injure 9 in Kyiv Region

Russian drone attacks on the Kyiv region injured nine people and damaged civilian infrastructure, including private homes, on Monday, Aug. 31 as the assault entered its fifth consecutive day. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, eight people suffered blast injuries in the village of Pohreby in Brovary district, while a woman sustained a shrapnel wound to her leg in Bucha district. Emergency crews were deployed to the sites, working to extinguish fires. In the Bucha district, two private homes were damaged as well. The air-raid alert remained in effect as authorities urged residents to stay in shelters. In Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that drone debris fell on a roadside in Holosiivskyi district, setting grass on fire. Emergency services were sent to the site. Debris was later found at two non-residential locations in the district, though no fires were reported there. A fire also broke out in Darnytskyi district following a drone strike, while grass caught fire near a forest belt in Solomianskyi district, Klitschko said, urging residents to stay in shelters.
