Since early Saturday, Russian attacks on Kyiv have killed one man and wounded at least 10 other civilians as drones struck civilian infrastructure, targeting apartment and office buildings, shopping malls and warehouses. Klitschko first reported the hit around 9:30 a.m. local time, saying there were preliminary reports of injuries and that emergency services were heading to the scene. Minutes later, he confirmed the number of casualties. However, he did not specify what type of weapon was used. Man killed overnight Hours earlier, around 6 a.m. local Kyiv time, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) reported that rescuers had found a man’s body while putting out a fire in a non-residential building that was hit overnight. The SES did not provide additional information regarding the building’s location or details about the victim. At another location, a drone hit a one-story car repair shop in the Solomianskyi district overnight, sparking a fire. In the Solomianskyi district, a drone crash set fire to a five-story residential building and a store on its ground floor. “Twenty people were rescued from the building,” Klitschko wrote, later saying four people had been injured in the strike. Across the city, a drone crashed onto the grounds of a shopping mall in the Sviatoshynskyi district, destroying one of the stores, while another set fire to the roof of an office building in the Solomianskyi district. Later that morning, a drone caused a fire in another office building in the Solomianskyi district, and one person was injured when a separate drone crashed into a non-residential building in the Obolonskyi district just an hour later, around 9:40 a.m. Strikes across Ukraine The attacks on Kyiv came amid a wider wave of Russian strikes, which Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned on Saturday. “There is a clear pattern – these are civilian sites. The attacks come as Kyiv and Washington step up efforts to bring Moscow to the negotiating table, while the Kremlin continues to reject calls for a ceasefire.
