Russian Attacks on Kharkiv Region Kill 2, Injure 7, Including 4 Children

Two people were killed and at least seven injured, including four children, as Russian forces struck the city of Kharkiv and 21 settlements across the Kharkiv region over Saturday. Oleh Synehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported the casualties in the morning of Sunday, Sept. 27. Both people killed were 50-year-old men. One died near the village of Pytomnyk in the Derhachi community, and the other between the villages of Shuby and Sinne. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) recorded a total of 221 combat clashes in total since Saturday. In total, Russian forces launched 289 guided aerial bombs (KABs) on Ukraine nationwide. They also used 10,489 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,729 attacks. Children among the injured The village of Lebiazhe in the Prolisne community was among the hardest hit. A 13-year-old boy was injured there, while a 56-year-old man, a 32-year-old woman and two boys aged 12 and 5 suffered acute stress reactions, according to Synehubov. A 73-year-old woman was injured in the attack near Pytomnyk, while a 16-year-old boy was wounded in the strike between Shuby and Sinne. In the village of Nyzhche Solone in the Borova community, a 60-year-old man was injured when an unidentified device exploded. Of the 41 drones used against the region, one was a Geran-2, the Russian version of the Iranian-designed Shahed. Two were Molniya drones and 15 were first-person-view (FPV) drones. The type of the remaining 23 is still being determined. In Kupiansk district, Russian attacks damaged an ambulance in the village of Prosianka, a residential care facility and a garage in Shevchenkove, an outbuilding in Velykyi Burluk, a private house in Kotivka and a civilian enterprise in Novoselivka. In Chuhuiv district, an apartment building and 15 private vehicles were damaged in Lebiazhe, while power lines were hit in the village of Zarichne. In Bohodukhiv district, strikes damaged four private houses in Zolochiv, private homes in Riasne and Kalynove, and private vehicles in Skovorodynivka and Sinne. In Lozova district, a private house and a civilian enterprise were damaged in Lozova, an administrative building and four cars in Zlatopil, and a private house in Dobropillia. A residential building and a hangar were hit in the city of Izium. In Kharkiv district, the attacks damaged cars in Pytomnyk and Ruska Lozova, a private house in Tsyrkuny and a shop in Derhachi. Evacuations continue as Russian strikes persist The transit evacuation center in Lozova received 185 people over the past day, Syniehubov said, adding that it has registered a total of 62,012 people since it opened. Citing the General Staff of the AFU, Synehubov said Ukrainian units repelled four Russian attacks near the settlements of Ternova, Kozacha Lopan and Lyman in the Southern Slobozhanskyi axis. In the Kupiansk axis, Russian forces made three attempts to improve their positions, launching assaults toward Kupiansk, Radkivka and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.
