Russian Attack Kills 1 in Kyiv High-Rise, Shuts Down Bridges Across the Capital

A Russian attack on Kyiv early Friday damaged the upper floors of a 25-story residential building in the Darnytskyi district, killing one person and injuring two others, authorities said.Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said the strike caused a fire on the upper floors of the high-rise, prompting emergency crews to respond to the scene.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official.At 7:45 a.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA) confirmed that one person had been killed and two others injured in the attack.The State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported that the fire broke out on the 24th and 25th floors of the building and was extinguished after spreading across 120 square meters. The area of structural damage is estimated at approximately 40 square meters.“Rescuers evacuated two injured people from the building and handed them over to medical personnel. The body of a deceased person was discovered while extinguishing the fire. Another six people were evacuated,” the report states.Emergency crews are currently dismantling damaged structures and dousing them with water. Russian forces also struck the Pivdennyi (South) Bridge again overnight, while drone debris fell in an open area in the Holosiivskyi district, damaging windows of a non-residential building and several cars. No fires or casualties were reported there.The strikes caused major disruptions to traffic across Kyiv.The Pivdennyi Bridge was completely closed in both directions, while traffic on the Paton Bridge was restricted to the right-bank-to-left-bank direction.
