Russia launched 133 drones at Ukraine overnight on Thursday, Aug. 13, with Ukrainian air defenses intercepting 111 of them, the Ukrainian Air Force said. Two railway workers killed in Odesa region A Russian jet-powered Shahed drone deliberately struck the locomotive of a passenger train in Odesa region, killing the train’s driver and assistant, Ukrainian Railways Board Chairman Oleksandr Pertsovskyi said. The attack occurred as the train was approaching a station where passengers were supposed to be evacuated after a drone threat was detected. “Unfortunately, I have to report the most terrible news: according to the information currently available, this strike left no chance for our locomotive crew – the driver and his assistant,” Pertsovskyi said. The train was carrying 340 passengers. They and the rest of the train crew were evacuated safely, with no injuries reported among them. Passengers were subsequently transported to Odesa by buses.
