Russia Keeps Pounding Kyiv in Daytime After Overnight Ballistic Strike – Supermarket Hit, Debris Found on Embassy Grounds

A Kyivteploenergo driver was killed when a Russian strike hit a warehouse in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district on Wednesday, Sept. 30, while debris from the overnight attack was found at an embassy in the city center. Klitschko said the driver was working at the site with other utility specialists. A Kyiv Post correspondent in Solomianskyi district reported that the impact hit the warehouse’s freezer rooms. A truck caught fire, and the Kyiv City Military Administration reported one other person injured. Klitschko said debris was found on the grounds of one of the Western embassies in Shevchenkivskyi district and that emergency services were heading to the site. DTEK said its energy workers restored electricity to 8,000 households after damage to energy infrastructure. “We continue to work 24/7 to ensure reliable electricity supply for Kyiv residents,” the company said. Local social media channels also claimed a drone hit a store in the Kyiv region and that people could be heard screaming. Kyiv Post could not independently verify those reports. The latest updates follow a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv early Wednesday, as Kyiv Post previously reported. The attack killed two women and injured five people in the capital. The report said air defenses engaged incoming ballistic missiles as explosions were heard across the city.
