Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Friday that Moscow was ready to begin additional diesel deliveries to the United States and other countries in October, with exports set to rise further in November and December as refineries return from maintenance. His comments followed a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, after which Trump said Putin had agreed to supply diesel to the US and global markets as fuel prices soar amid the war with Iran. The Kremlin said the call focused on ending the war in Ukraine and also touched on Iran. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticised the move, calling Trump's decision to accept Russian fuel to ease US shortages "unworthy" and "weak". "It is certainly not honest, it is certainly unworthy of our partners, and it is, in my view, a weak decision," Zelensky told reporters.
