Russia Attacks BaDM Pharmaceutical Warehouse, Logistics Sorting Center, Steel Plant, Killing 2

Russian strikes hit a BaDM pharmaceutical warehouse and an Eva retail sorting center in the Odesa region, and yet again targeted the ArcelorMittal steel plant in Kryvyi Rih on Sept. 14, killing at least two people. Since early August, Russian forces have launched an unprecedented wave of targeted attacks on major Ukrainian civilian businesses. On Sept. 14, the attack damaged the facilities of BaDM, one of the leading pharmaceutical distributors in Ukraine, the Economichna Pravda wrote, citing the company’s press service. Overnight on Sept. 14, a Russian missile strike also targeted ArcelorMittal, the largest facility in Ukraine’s mining and metals sector. The attack killed two people and injured two more. “Experts are currently evaluating the scope of the damage, along with the feasibility and timeframe for repairs,” the company wrote on Facebook. ArcelorMittal is the world’s largest multinational metallurgical company, headquartered in Luxembourg. It is also listed on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange, where its share price stood at $71.06 as of 3:45 p.m. Kyiv time on Sept. 11, according to data on its website. Meanwhile, Optima-Pharm, one of the country’s largest pharmaceutical distributors, has already reported over $100 million in losses, Eсonomichna Pravda reported based on the companyʼs estimates.
