NewsUK News A RUGBY player killed in a horror car crash has been named and pictured – with three people arrested. Max Redding was one of two people who died in the incident on the A246 near East Clandon, Surrey, last Friday (August 21). The multi-vehicle collision involved three Seat Leons at just after 11pm, with Redding, in his early 20s, a passenger in one. Max previously played for Guildfordians Rugby Club, with the club releasing a tribute describing him as “humble, respectful and deeply committed to his teammates”, and said he was an “exceptional athlete”. The statement went on to say: “Max was never someone who could be summed up simply. “He was a complex character, full of energy, determination, strength and spirit. “Someone whose presence made an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.” Max first joined the club as a 12-year-old and later played for Surrey Rugby, George Abbot School and the club’s senior Bisons side. A 22-year-old man from Woking, a 21-year-old woman from Guildford and a 19-year-old man from Guildford have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remain in police custody.
