A GROOMING gang survivor claims she was prevented in court from calling for two of her abusers to be deported. Sarah was groomed and raped in Rotherham and trafficked around the country between the ages of 11 and 16. In 2024 Sadiq, then 50, was jailed for 25 years at Sheffield crown court for sexual intercourse with a child under 13, two rapes and sex trafficking. Amar, then 43, got 16 years for two indecent assaults against Sarah when she was 11. Sarah, who has waived her right to anonymity, asked in her statement for them to be deported to Pakistan after their release “as this was where they originated from and came here to exploit children”. But before she entered court on the day, she said that Judge Michael Slater asked to see it. She claimed it was then returned to her with the deportation part scribbled out, and was told not to read it out. The Home Office initially said Ahmed could not be deported but it may now review the case. However, any changes to the law will likely take at least a year, and Ahmed is currently free. Sarah said: “These men are monsters. They all deserved to be deported.” A Government spokesman said: “We are committed to deporting for-eign national offenders.” The Home Office did not comment on her case.
