Ross Smith calls out ‘skanky’ darts stars who don’t change their dirty clothes

ROSS SMITH has branded some of his fellow darts stars “skanky” over their choice of matchday kit. The world No15 revealed he is baffled by players who repeatedly wear the same clothes, insisting he always changes into fresh gear. Smith admits Wayne Mardle was one of his biggest inspirations growing up and a player he looked up to before embarking on his own rise in the sport. He told talkSPORT: “I loved Wayne Mardle as a kid because he used to come out with the Hawaiian shirt. “He was dancing and he was brilliant. I loved his throw as well. I used to try and copy him and be like him as well. The Dover thrower was agonisingly denied by Adam Leek in a 6-5 first-round thriller, having missed SIX match darts to close out victory.
