ROP wins first place in International Open Tactical Shooting Championship

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police Special Operations team won first place in the overall standings of the International Open Tactical Shooting Championship for Special Operations teams, held at the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes, Chechnya, from August 20-24, 2026. The championship saw the participation of 11 teams from special forces units and elite teams, as well as military and security tactical teams from Chechnya, the Russian Federation, Belarus, and several Asian and Gulf countries. The championship included 11 tactical competitions and events, encompassing shooting, field skills, and a number of scenarios simulating real-world operational conditions and tasks, in accordance with the nature of the work of special operations and tactical teams. The Royal Oman Police team secured first place after a fierce competition that spanned the days of the championship. Participants achieved outstanding results in various events, ultimately clinching the top spot in the overall standings and winning several awards and trophies. They outperformed participating teams from various international military and security agencies.
