Root reclaims no. 1 spot in ICC Test rankings ahead of Trent Bridge decider

Joe Root has reassumed the top spot in the ICC Test batting rankings, displacing teammate Harry Brook following an impressive performance in the latest England-New Zealand Test match. This is Root's 12th time holding the No. 1 ranking, and he now sets his sights on maintaining his lead in the decisive Trent Bridge game, where England also aims to boost their World Test Championship standing after facing a penalty for slow over-rate. This shift in rankings underscores Root's pivotal role in England's quest for cricketing supremacy.
