Rookie cop ‘bundled woman into car then sexually assaulted and raped her before he was snared in motorway police chase’

NewsUK News A ROOKIE cop allegedly bundled a woman into a car before sexually assaulting then raping her, a court heard today. Mohammad Hassan, who was off duty at the time, was arrested following a police pursuit on the M62. The Greater Manchester Police trainee, 23, appeared at Stockport Magistrates’ Court today. The court was told the alleged kidnapping took place on Saturday night when a woman in her 20s was bundled into a car. She was then driven to an area of Manchester and was sexually assaulted and raped, it is alleged. The suspect then drove off at 120mph, Ewan Cooper, prosecuting, told the court. A 999 call was made shortly before 10.20pm in which a woman could be heard in distress in a vehicle in the Manchester area, JPs were told. GMP said a woman was safeguarded at the scene and continues to be supported by specialist officers and support services. Hassan, who has been suspended by the force, spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth. Criminal proceedings must now take its course without interference. “I understand and share the feeling among the public and our thousands of hard-working, decent staff who will have seen this news. “Proceedings are under way and necessary action will be decisively taken within the regulations.”
