ROGER FEDERER has reportedly been stripped of his status as a billionaire. It comes after the share price for his sportswear brand took a huge hit. But the share price of On Holdings fell by 19 per cent on Tuesday. The Wall Street Journal stated the Swiss company reported net sales of 850.4million Swiss francs (£775m) for the second quarter. That was up 13 per cent on the previous quarter but, crucially, approximately 28m francs (£26m) shy of their target. Federer owns approximately 2.5 per cent of On Holding, who manufacture athletic shoes and sports clothing. And according to Forbes, that missed expectation for Q2 saw Federer’s own personal net worth fall by at least $52m (£38m) on Tuesday. Federer made a staggering £96m on the court thanks to his exceptional 24-year tennis career. He won 103 titles, including 20 Grand Slams, and spent 237 consecutive weeks as the world No1 between 2004 and 2008. But Federer made the bulk of his money thanks to his various sponsorship endorsements. He signed a ten-year $300m deal with Uniqlo in 2018 – replacing his previous long-standing collaboration with Nike. His long list of other brand partnerships includes Rolex, Credit Suisse, Lindt, Gillette, Wilson, Barilla and Moet & Chandon. Comment now
