Robert Pattinson is getting some special recognition after his very busy year. The star will be honored as the 40th recipient of the American Cinematheque Award, presented at the organization’s Beverly Hills gala on Feb. 9. In 2026 alone, Pattinson has starred in The Drama, The Odyssey, Primetime and the upcoming Dune: Part Three, and the evening will celebrate those as well as his wide-ranging two-decade career. “Rob has built an extraordinary career defined by his unwavering dedication to his craft, fearless creative choices, and remarkable versatility as an actor. From his collaborations with some of cinema’s most visionary filmmakers to his ability to captivate audiences in major studio blockbusters, Rob has continually challenged expectations and demonstrated the power of great storytelling,” American Cinematheque board chair Rick Nicita said in a statement. “Rob is the perfect choice to receive this award and join our esteemed list of artists who not only love cinema but continue to have a deep impact on our industry. We are thrilled that his filming schedule has allowed us the opportunity to recognize his exceptional contributions to film and we look forward to celebrating his continued achievements.” Ryan Gosling was previously set to receive the American Cinematheque Award in a ceremony this month, but the event was rescheduled after Gosling was no longer available to accept it; Pattinson has also been busy this fall, filming The Batman Part II while taking part in the awards race. The American Cinematheque Awards Gala serves as an annual fundraiser for the nonprofit, supporting its year-round programming at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, Los Feliz 3 Theatre in Los Feliz and Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. The American Cinematheque Award has previously been given to stars including Eddie Murphy, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Jodie Foster, Denzel Washington, Nicole Kidman, George Clooney and Michael B. Jordan. THR Newsletters Sign up for THR news straight to your inbox every day Subscribe Sign Up
