Rivals300 DL Brayden Parks Sets Commitment Date

Oregon’s top remaining defensive line target in the 2027 class finally has a finish line for his recruitment. On Sunday, 4-star Chicago (IL) Brother Rice defensive lineman Brayden Parks set a commitment date for July 23, according to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. The 6-foot, 308-pound lineman will choose between Oregon and Notre Dame after taking official visits to both schools this summer. He spoke very highly of the Ducks heading into that visit. “Especially for a defensive player, his background, his defense. As a defensive player, you love a defensive coach,” Parks told ScoopDuck. “He’s willing to fight for things offensive coaches aren’t willing to fight for. He knows what it is to be in your shoes. What does it take to command a defense. So that’s really a big thing about him.” Parks is the top uncommitted defensive lineman in the 2027 recruiting class, and one of only two remaining targets for Oregon on defense. The Ducks are also heavily recruiting 4-star Massillon (OH) Washington linebacker Brayton Feister, who is down to Oregon, Cal and Georgia. Oregon has five offensive linemen committed in the 2027 recruiting class between the edge and interior defensive line positions, headlined by 4-star Raleigh (NC) Millbrook EDGE Rashad Streets. With the powerful duo of A’Mauri Washington and Bear Alexander moving on to the NFL after the 2026 season, adding some more talent to Tony Tuioti‘s defensive line remains a top priority for Oregon between now and the early signing period in December. Most of the buzz has favored Notre Dame for Parks recently, but Oregon won’t go away easily. The Ducks have gone against the Irish for a handful of recruits at various points in the 2027 cycle including offensive tackle commit Cameron Wagner, as well as Notre Dame wide receiver commit Julius Jones Jr.
