Riftbound X K/DA Couture Collection Is Getting Scalped On Ebay

Sign in to your TheGamer account Riot has recently released one of its most anticipated Riftbound sets with the K/DA Couture Collection, bringing the fan-favorite virtual idol group into the game with some gorgeous new designs. Unfortunately, the set that should have been a surefire win for the up-and-coming trading card game has already been leaving fans disappointed by not being able to buy the Couture Collection without relying on scalpers. While reselling is nothing new for the industry at this point, the hype behind the Couture Collection has led to the set being scalped for over three times MSRP on sites like eBay, leaving fans stuck between paying egregious prices or waiting for the incredibly unlikely chance of a reprint at some point in the future. You'll Have To Pay Egregious Prices To Get The Collection Now Initially listed at $150 on the official Riot Games merch store, the now out-of-stock set is now fetching prices of up to $500 on eBay, with over a dozen listings supposedly selling around the $350-$450 range, although the legitimacy of these sales hasn't been confirmed yet. While the popularity of the set combined with the limited drop makes it not too surprising that it would have sold out already, especially when combined with the low chances of its draw system. Rather than buying the cards outright, you needed to have signed up for registration between October 27 and October 30th, after which participants were emailed a code today that would let them buy the set for themselves within 24 hours. While there is still a chance that you might still get to buy one at MSRP if someone ahead of you misses the chance, the odds are still incredibly low at best. A Concerning Look Into The Future Of Riftbound Although Riot's draw system is much less frustrating to deal with compared to the state of limited products for other TCGs like Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon, that hasn't stopped players from raising concerns about the skyrocketing after-market prices, especially for highly-anticipated sets like these with plenty of value inside. With more Riftbound products being offered as limited-time draws rather than store-bought products, it's more than likely that these kinds of scalping incidents will start to get more and more common as time goes on and demand rises, especially when it comes to drops like the upcoming T1 2025 Worlds bundle, which goes live on November 13.
