Rider, 32, dies after serious accident playing polo match during tournament

TRIBUTES have been paid to a man who died in hospital after a serious accident during a polo match that saw two others injured. Cowdray Park Polo Club in Easebourne, West Sussex, has offered tribute to Harry Revell who died following the tragedy on September 11. Harry, 32, was described as a “much-loved and respected member of the polo community.” An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene last week after receiving reports that a man had suffered an accidental injury. Sign up for the Sport newsletter Thank you! Harry was rushed to a major trauma centre while two other people who were injured were provided medical care. One was taken to the local hospital while another was discharged from the scene. Harry sadly passed away in hospital. The polo club announced a farewell cup as a mark of respect and said the season would resume in time. A Cowdray Park Polo Club spokesperson said: “The club has remained in close contact with Harry’s family since the accident and will continue to offer whatever support we can. “Harry’s family take some comfort in knowing that he was unconscious immediately following the accident, and he remained peaceful and in the very best care until he passed.
