Richarlison issues statement as Tottenham transfer request sent amid Everton links

Richarlison has issued a public statement asking Tottenham for ‘respect’ as he his future remains up in the air on the eve of Deadline Day.He helped Tottenham to clinch Europa League glory the season before last, before gritting his teeth to help the club through spring’s relegation battle. Now, in a bombshell statement shared to his social media pages, Richarlison has implored Tottenham to allow him the agency to decide whether or not to look for a move on Deadline Day.He wrote: “After everything I've been through in the last few years, I decided that NEVER AGAIN would anyone decide my future for me. Wants out: RicharlisonPA“I went through a lot of bad things during that time, and almost all of them happened because of decisions made by other people. Pressure, threats, retaliation—none of that scares me. I've been through worse things... believe me!”Richarlison went on, asking Tottenham to handle his situation with ‘respect’ for his role helping the club dodge relegation in May.“I've always made it clear, at every opportunity, that any move of mine to another place would also have to be good for the club. If it wasn't, I would never accept it. Just like I didn't accept it when everything here was falling apart and they needed me. “I stayed and gave my life. So, I hope they treat my situation with the same respect that I've always had for the Spurs and for all the people who worked with me during this period. Just don't try to decide for me.”It remains to be seen whether a move will materialise for Richarlison on Deadline Day, though Everton will be back in the market for forwards after selling Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester City. They have also been linked with an eleventh-hour move for Monaco striker Folarin Balogun.
