To the Editor A recent Review of type 1 diabetes reported that pancreas transplant “increases the risk of severe or life-threatening adverse effects including death (10-year mortality of 8%-32% in longitudinal studies) related to immunosuppression.” It’s important to highlight that the mortality data cited are from a study published in 2018 about outcomes of pancreas transplants performed between 1993 and 2011.
