A Middle East Eye investigation has revealed links between three UK-registered charities and an East Jerusalem yeshiva planning to expand into Sheikh Jarrah. Ohr Somayach is a network of ultra-Orthodox religious education institutions founded by Americans in 1972. It has a site in East Jerusalem and has had plans to expand into Sheikh Jarrah approved. MEE's investigation found that two British charities, British Friends of Yehuda Yaale and Achisomoch Aid Company, have between them donated over $1.3m to the yeshiva. A third charity, UK Toremet, has facilitated donations.
