Revanth Reddy has called upon the Arya Vaishya community to remain united and secure its due share in politics, saying that collective strength was essential for earning greater respect and representation.Addressing an Arya Vaishya community meeting on Sunday (September 13, 2026), Revanth Reddy said members of the community were known for their soft-spoken nature, self-respect and foresight. Even though many Arya Vaishyas were economically disadvantaged, they preferred to live with dignity rather than seek recognition as a backward or poor community, he said.Revanth Reddy recalled the contributions of former Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah, particularly his role as Finance Minister at the time of the formation of Telangana. He said Telangana was formed on June 2, 2014, with a surplus budget of ₹16,000 crore, attributing the financial position to the stewardship of Mr. Rosaiah, who had been given opportunities and recognition by the Congress.Recalling his association with Mr. Rosaiah, the Chief Minister said the former leader had advised him to control his emotions and use his experience to advance in politics when he was known for speaking aggressively in the Legislative Council. “Rosaiah was the first to recognise me,” he said.Mr. Reddy said his government had installed a statue of Mr. Rosaiah in the heart of Hyderabad with the intention of preserving his honour and acknowledging his bond with the city.Referring to the community’s contribution to the freedom movement and public life, the Chief Minister described Mahatma Gandhi as the only truly global leader from India, saying that his stature was recognised across the world. He pointed out that the government had already provided a corporation post to an Arya Vaishya representative and the chairperson’s post in a municipality in Kodangal to a member of the community.
