File | Photo Credit: Getty Images/iStockphoto A retired Indian Air Force officer was beaten up with an iron rod by the parking staff at a commercial complex in Sector 66 of Gurugam this past week, said Gurugram Police on Monday (September 14, 2026), adding that a case was registered in this connection.“The victim is a retired Air Force officer residing in Sector 61. He was assaulted by the parking staff of Magnum Global Park. We received information on 13th and an FIR has been registered at Sector 65 Police Station,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Headquarters, Abhilaksh Joshi.The incident took place on the evening of September 10 and the accused has been identified as parking staff of the complex, he said. The victim has been identified as Amit Gupta.As per preliminary investigation and the complaint filed by the victim, Mr. Gupta was attacked with an iron rod. “He has sustained a fracture in his hand. Other injuries will be ascertained as per the Medical Legal Case report,” the ACP said. The police said CCTV footage was being examined and further investigation was underway.Mr. Joshi added that when contacted initially, the victim said he would record his detailed statement later.
