Resident Evil's Leon & Ada Finally Reunite In New Release You Can Play Now

Long before Resident Evil Requiem was released, fans had been eagerly awaiting the return of Ada Wong into the mainline Resident Evil games for years, and even more so as a playable character. Although Ada did get a high-quality story DLC of her own in the Resident Evil 4 Remastered: Separate Ways DLC, players are more than ready for round two of Ada and Leon meeting up again after all this time. While there is still plenty of speculation about when Requiem's DLC will release or what kind of story and characters it will choose to follow, Capcom just released a new playable DLC with the two protagonists that you can play entirely for free right now. Initially teased a few weeks ago, the official ArenaBreakoutPC on X recently announced the launch of its official collaboration with the Resident Evil series, which is bringing both Ada Wong and Leon Kennedy as playable characters alongside a plethora of themed cosmetics. In the surprisingly high-quality cinematic trailer for the event, Leon and Ada are depicted meeting up again after the events of Resident Evil 4, before being forced to work together to fight against a horde of infected. Although it's not the official Requiem DLC many fans might have been hoping for, the collaboration with the popular extraction shooter Arena Breakout Infinite looks just as detailed as it is surprising. Fans of the tactical FPS game are getting two new characters, several free collaboration outfits, and a plethora of other exclusive rewards that can be earned simply from playing the game between July 24 and August 5. It isn't just Ada Wong and Leon who are joining in on the fun either, as on top of the generic RPD uniform you can unlock for your operator, Arena Breakout Infinite also offers outfits worn by HUNK, Krauser, and even Leon's 'Crest Lord' vampire outfit. Although some of the rewards aren't guaranteed and will require you to spend a bit of extra money to acquire everything in the collab, it seems like there are more than enough rewards to incentivize players to try out the game. Simply logging in and playing each day will net you most of the limited-time offerings on its own. While you unfortunately won't be going into ABI's extraction zones to face off against zombies or other familiar threats from the Resident Evil series, Arena Breakout Infinite instead offers new items for players to collect in the form of a golden crown and eggs. Just like in the original Resident Evil 4, you can scavenge for jewels to place into the crown to raise its maximum profit value once sold. The eggs are a bit more complicated, on the other hand, as you'll need to find them in the game world before bringing them back to sell on a virtual stock market that changes each day, allowing you to choose if you want to try your chance at a higher risk reward, or a guaranteed cash out for currency that can be spent on themed skins for weapons, characters, and more Arena Breakout Infinite's brutal extraction-shooter gameplay isn't likely to be a big hit with every fan of the survival horror genre. With how little Capcom has been willing to share details about the upcoming DLC or if we'll even ever get to see Leon and Ada meet in a new entry once more, however, getting another chance to play as two of Resident Evil's most iconic characters is an opportunity that's hard to pass up.
