Report: Rays placing OF Victor Mesa (hamstring) on injured list

After missing the previous three games, Mesa returned to the lineup Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. He was hit by a pitch in the second inning and removed for a pinch-hitter before his next at-bat in the fourth. Mesa, 24, is batting .214 with 10 home runs and 22 RBIs in 56 games in his first season with the Rays, who acquired him in a February trade with the Miami Marlins.
