Published October 5, 2026 12:55 PM The Chargers saw left tackle Rashawn Slater get hurt in Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks and the 0-4 team is reportedly set to be without him for a while. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the belief is that Slater suffered a high-ankle sprain. He’ll have an MRI to confirm that diagnosis and he will likely miss multiple weeks if the team gets that confirmation. Slater missed all of the 2025 season with a torn patellar tendon and he missed most of the 2022 season with a torn biceps, so the Chargers have experience playing without him. They were also missing right tackle Joe Alt for most of last season and Alt suffered a neck injury on Sunday, so climbing out of the early hole they’ve dug themselves this season is not shaping up to be an easy task.
