He did not play in 2025 after suffering an injury that held him out. In 2024, he caught 48 passes for 613 yards and five touchdowns. Previously, Stewart was at Texas A&M for two years to start his career. He caught 53 passes for 649 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman before bringing in 38 catches for 514 yards and four scores as a sophomore. As a member of the Class of 2022, Stewart was a five-star-plus recruit out of Frisco (Texas) Liberty, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He was the No. 1 overall prospect in the state, the No. 2 wide receiver in the class and the No. 8 overall prospect in the class. Going into the game against Nebraska, Oregon was reeling from a loss to UCLA. Head coach Dan Lanning even said he spent more time on the offensive side of the ball during preparation periods. “Obviously I’ve spent a lot more time on the offensive side of the ball this week,” Lanning said. “Timing is a piece of that. Operating what we’re doing and doing it at a high level. Evaluating efficiency at practice. Making sure you have as many guys prepared as possible.” With Stewart’s injury and now subsequent charge, it remains to be seen what his status with the team will be this week. Oregon has to hit the road and take on Illinois this weekend before returning home to play Northwestern. The hope is starting QB Dante Moore will be able to return at some point as Dylan Raiola and Brock Thomas have both started games in his absence. “I believe in doing whatever it takes to win,” Lanning said. “That’s our job. I’ve seen those (two QB offense) happen, at times be successful. Also seen times when that’s not successful too. You guys have seen us in our history here use a lot of different looks. Use your best personnel, make it simple enough you can execute it at a high level.”
