Report gives more details about deadly tow plane crash near Saratoga County Airport

A preliminary federal report has released more details about a deadly crash near Saratoga County Airport in May.   The crash happened on May 26 at around 1:47 p.m. James Stewart, 58, of Caroga Lake, was piloting a Piper PA-25 plane that was towing a glider. The tow plane crash and killed Stewart. The National Transportation Safety Board preliminary report said the Piper PA-25-235 towplane was substantially damaged, and the Schleicher ASW-27 glider returned to the airport and landed safely.
