Rented supercars, borrowed yachts & ‘less than £6k in bank’…staggering lies behind ‘trillionaire’ Andrew Tate’s wealth

HE’S the messianic head of “Hustlers University” who professed to be the world’s first trillionaire and vowed to his 14.8million-strong flock that they could do the same. He claimed to own a £36million superyacht, a vast collection of ultra-rare supercars allegedly worth £236million and have access to “unlimited” cryptocurrency and cash reserves. It emerged while the British-American, 38, alongside brother Tristan, 39, fought extradition to the UK where they will face 59 charges, including rape and sex trafficking. During a bail hearing, their legal team disputed claims of them being a flight risk – argued due to their ‘vast wealth’ – by revealing much of their lifestyle was “hyperbole and promotion”. He revealed their superyacht Obsidian Blade, which Tristan gave a social media tour of just in July, wasn’t theirs. All clips aboard were actually a paid-for advertisement. Their two ultra-rare Bugatti sports cars, collectively worth £8.8million, and a £1.5million Aston Martin are actually rented. And perhaps worse still for his 14.8 million social media worshippers, Andrew admitted he says “stupid things” online that are untrue in pursuit of clout, fame and money. “You have to shake the internet to get noticed. This is the reality of the internet,” he testified in a Miami court this week. Andrew, who partially grew-up on Luton’s Marsh Farm council estate, is a proudly professed “misogynist” and the figurehead of the dangerously toxic ‘manosphere’ movement. Most read in The Sun This shadowy online realm teaches teenage boys and men that women are to blame for their lack of societal progress among many outrageously outdated, untrue opinions. The risks of the manosphere were highlighted in ITV drama Adolescence, which scooped four BAFTAs, four Golden Globes and nine Emmy Awards, and achieved worldwide acclaim. Andrew once offered a “degree course” in “pimping ho*s” as part of his Hustlers University. Chillingly, in one video he explained what he would do if accused of cheating. He said: “It’s bang out the machete, boom in her face and grip her by the neck. Shut up b*tch… Slap, slap, grab, choke. Shut up, b*tch. Nor will his legions of disciples, who have absorbed and forged themselves into a mould of his image. Nor will the near-800,000 who paid for his online courses. Back in 2023, Andrew claimed to be earning “over 10 million dollars a month” on X, formerly Twitter – but appears to be in much harder times now. Last week in court, he spoke of needing to “go back to the boxing ring against heavier, younger opponents” to support himself financially. It’s known that things were in dire straits at Team Tate headquarters last year. The Sun understands that employees were being forced to take pay cuts. One worker is known to have faced losing £6,000 from their salary and when pushing back was allegedly told the company didn’t have that amount of money. It’s believed Andrew or Tristan would have had to pay the difference from their personal bank accounts, if they wanted to keep an employee on their previous salaries. The losses were, in part, suspected to have stemmed from traffic falling by a reported 95 per cent amid dismal three years of revenue generated from posting. It would have been a blow to Andrew, known as Top G, who “would never admit failure, or making mistakes”. He was believed to have been “born perfect”, devoid of any flaws. That likely was shattered when Andrew’s personal finances took a blow in November when he lost £536,000 in risky, poorly-placed bets on the cryptocurrency market. Two months later, he lost a further £56,000 there during a 24-hour period. According to analysis site LookOnChain, his account balance plummeted from £738,000 to £10,000. This was joined by mass financial seizures related to alleged criminal and civil offences. By August last year, nearly £2.9million was seized from the brothers by UK courts after they were found to have laundered money to evade paying tax and VAT. As part of the investigation by Devon and Cornwall police, they discovered £21million had been credited and washed through multiple accounts. They were able to confiscate the funds after freezing six bank accounts and one cryptocurrency account, and a £180,000 deposit for a special-edition Aston Martin Valhalla. In Romania, where the Brothers also face charges, assets totalling £3million were seized – including 15 luxury cars, 14 designer watches and cash in multiple currencies. At one point, they claimed to have 200,000 active paying subscribers – then paying £40 per month – which, if true, would have netted them £96million in a single year. In addition to its subscription fee, it offered courses on offshore tax structuring for £3,700 and asset management for £6,000. In November 2024, three years after Hustlers University’s inception, a data leak revealed a total of 794,000 people had subscribed. Some current and others were former members. Now The Real World has two levels. Basic level ‘conquer’ is £73 per month and ‘vanguard’ is £368 per month. The latter boasts a mysterious “experimental feature access”. PR expert Carla Speight believes the brothers’ new admissions over their wealth will severely dent them, their following and the manosphere too. “His lawyer has accidentally outed them as being all fur coat and no knickers,” she tells us. “It shows their empire is built on smoke and mirrors and now they have dropped a bomb on the reality of their lifestyle and shattered that mirror. “I’m sure the Tates’ house of cards will come tumbling down fast and the manosphere will be on life support if Andrew Tate goes to prison.” Carla believes their money-making schemes are “definitely damaged” and followed a “widely used marketing tool” known as ‘the marking funnel’. “Andrew’s is split into three sections and people get sucked in deeper from the top to the bottom where they will pay and are ever-more radicalised by his beliefs,” she says. At the top are typically teenagers who enjoy their funny videos. The middle is where they begin to peddle “darker beliefs about what women should and shouldn’t do”. The bottom layer is the valuable “buy in section”, which will be populated by “early adopters and loyal super fans”. Carla claims they will be harder to break free from the ideology. “Those at the bottom of this funnel make the Tates’ a flight risk,” she adds. “They may help him to escape, hide him or offer money to help him out.” Tate had previously boasted about having “seven passports” from different countries and “15 driver’s licenses”. Carla believes Andrew nicked much of his manosphere manifesto from previous political figures and men’s rights movements. Among them was self-professed anti-feminist Ernest Belfort Bax, of Warwickshire, who spoke of “anti-man crusades” in the early 1900s. He complained that a husband was “bound to support his torturer” – his wife, “legally under the heel of woman(sic)” and should be “emancipated”. Tate is alleged to have borrowed ideas from 19th Century misogynist Ernest Belfort Bax Credit: Supplied Andrew’s secret girlfriend Natasha Sesay insisted they had a romantic relationship Credit: Reuters And by repacking beliefs with terms like ‘the matrix’ and ‘red pill’, referencing a 1999 cult sci-fi film, the theories were “made understandable”. “Tate surely made millions, I’m sure a hideous amount of money through social media clip views, subscriptions and podcasts,” Carla says. “His main markets will be teenage boys who feel lost in the world, divorced dads and a handful of single men. “He made big, bold, toxic and sweeping statements to get everyone’s attention and it awakened those who already felt hard-done by women.” The claims about women and male success were then emboldened by Andrew’s insistence that he was “uberwealthy” and content shared from his seemingly-lavish lifestyle. In July 2022, he claimed to have gone from “broke for a long time” to making his first million at the age of 27 and then “a trillionaire, the world’s first” at 35. They flew on private jets, drove luxury cars, wore $1m watches and lived in a $30million mansion in Bucharest, Romania. How much of that was real is now in question. The brothers’ current predicament couldn’t be any further from that since their arrest in July, in Miami, Florida, following UK courts launching a bid to extradite them. Since then they have languished in solitary confinement in Federal Detention Centre Miami and have complained about having small, hot cells, with little access to sunlight or exercise. Andrew dubbed their treatment “the worst possible conditions” that was typically reserved for “terrorists or psychopaths”. “I’m being treated like El Chapo,” he moaned, comparing himself to the infamous Mexican drug kingpin. He claimed his neighbouring cellmate was a cannibal. Similarly Tristan, who claimed to have lost 14lb during his incarceration, complained conditions would lead to “death by scurvy.” Prosecutors have stated the brothers’ conditions are “reasonable, constitutional and within BOP’s (the Federal Bureau of Prisons) discretion.” During their pleas for bail, a surprise witness also emerged. Andrew’s secret girlfriend and expectant mother of his second child. Previously he boasted of having 10 girlfriends and nine “baby mamas”. He spoke of rejecting any woman who had “slept with more than three men” – something he considered “vile”. Andrew said: “I go out and f*** and I come back to her and I don’t care about her and I only love my girl. So it was interesting that for all of his playboy lifestyle claims, that the person to take the stand was his partner Natasha Sesay. “It’s nice having him at home,” she said at his Thursday bail hearing. Natasha stated, in contradiction to “slap, grab, choke” claims online, that he “has never, ever been violent towards women”. She is nearly nine months pregnant and they already have one child together. Sesay, who is believed to be from England, also described a loving, romantic five-year relationship. This will be another shock for Tate’s legions of followers, who according to PR Carla, will leave in drones due to the betrayals and deception. “They will be beginning to realise that he is full of lies and nonsense and there was never any truth, authenticity or reality behind what he was saying,” she adds. “It has now left the manosphere injured and exposed. There are cracks in his smoke and mirrors. This is the worst thing the Tates could ever have imagined happening to them. “They will argue it’s the matrix, the system, women, but the reality is they never had solid ground underneath them. “And when you’re renting your lifestyle to keep up the facade, how long can it really last?” The Tate brothers’ legal representative has been contacted for comment.
