4 min readREI’s Anniversary Sale runs from May 15-25.There are up to 50% off savings on new and outlet gear.REI Member’s can even save 20% off on one full-priced item with code ANNIV26.MAY IS THE perfect time to shop for outdoor essentials, I'd argue. It's far enough removed from winter that cold-weather must-haves are cheaper than ever, but still not blisteringly hot where peak summer items are flying off the shelf. But these savings multiply the closer you get to one major shopping event: Memorial Day weekend. Which happens to coincide with REI’s Anniversary Sale, where you can score up to 30 percent off regularly-priced outdoor gear (many from our favorite clothing brands) and up to 50 percent off at REI Outlet. Whether you're planning for a summer camping trip or just grabbing a new pair of hiking boots for the warm weather hikes ahead, this is the outdoor gear sale to hit this spring.SHOP REI ANNIVERSARY SALESHOP REI OUTLET SALEREI Memorial Day Sale 2026First Time SavingsKeen Targhee ApexNow 25% OffCredit: REICozy StalwartREI Co-Op Siesta Hooded 20 Double Sleeping BagNow 30% OffCredit: REIVersatile FleeceThe North Face Yumiori Off Peak Half-Zip JacketNow 25% OffCredit: REITop-End PolesBlack Diamond Distance Carbon Z Trekking PolesCredit: REITravel NecessityRoak Layover Pro Traveler PantsNow 25% OffCredit: REISuperior HydrationNathan Sports QuickStart 3.0 6L Hydration VestNow 25% OffCredit: REINew SavingsREI Co-Op Swiftland Grid Running T-ShirtNow 25% OffCredit: REIMinimalist Camp ChairRei Co-Op Flexlite Camp ChairNow 33% OffRare DiscountArc'teryx Cerium Down HoodieNow 25% OffCredit: REIMust-Have JoggersPatagonia Terrebone JoggersNow 20% OffCredit: REICamp StorageREI Co-Op Traverse Modular Bear CanisterNow 26% OffCredit: REIGo-Anywhere ShortsThe North Face Basin 7-In. Keen’s Targhee Apex dropped earlier this year, and it’s got a 25% discount (the first we’ve seen on it). I’ve been wearing the low version since February and this new modernized version of the classic Targhee hiking boot has been my go-to when I want something with a little more support than a sneaker. Built to be light (13.2 oz) and fast, it’s still got a stability shank and a grippy outsole for any sort of terrain.Patagonia’s Terrebone Joggers have become a gold standard is outdoor pants—they’re light and breathable enough for warmer days, roomy enough for over a base layer for cooler activities, and they sport a DWR and UPF 40 finish for added protection. The otter brown color (which I’ve been rocking for a bit now) is 20% off and still has a nearly-full size run. The pond green is 25% off, but is a little more limited in size options. For those looking to upgrade their camp sleep system, you have a plethora of options. For single individual sleepers, it’s hard to beat 25% off the Nemo Disco 15 Endless Down Sleep Bag, one of our new favorite bags in recent memory. You’re getting near-ultralight weight at just over a pound, superior warmth, and premium features like a vent system that can let off excess heat. For couple campers, scoring 25 percent off the REI Co-op Camp Dreamer Double Sleep System is a rare treat. For REI members, the savings get even better. Members can purchase one full-priced item from this list and score 20 percent off with code ANNIV26 through May 25. That includes items that rarely (if ever) go on sale like the Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket, the Yeti Tundra 45 Cooler, and the brand-new Brooks Ghost 18. Not a member? Don't worry, simply sign up here and take advantage of the steals. Keep an eye on the last two rows of this list, as these 20 percent markdowns require you to sign up.But don't wait, with deals like this, I don't envision inventory sticking around through Memorial Day on lots of these big deals.Shop REI Memorial Day Sale by CategoryHiking Boots SaleCamping and Hiking DealsRunning DealsOutdoor Gadget DealsWatersports DealsCycling DealsTravel DealsCar Rack DealsClimbing Gear DealsREI Outlet DealsMember 20% Off Eligible ItemsWhat's the Difference Between REI and REI Outlet? Most of us are aware REI is home base for all things recreational equipment. From hiking to camping, to climbing and fishing, you can find almost any piece of gear you need from all the top brands. The REI Outlet is much like a "last chance to buy" section for the outfitter, holding all of its past-season gear and its famous flash sales. What makes the REI Outlet special though is its wide array of product offerings that reflect all types of seasons. Both REI and REI Outlet has deals right now in honor of Memorial Day.How to Use an REI Co-op MembershipMember exclusive sales are just one part to the perks of having an REI Co-op membership. And during the Anniversary Sale, members can use code ANNIV26 at checkout on one full-priced item (that’s eligible) to get 20% off, and also use it to get an extra 20% off one REI Outlet item. Other benefits include 10 percent giveback on eligible purchases year-over-year, free shipping coupons and flash coupons, discounts on equipment servicing and gear rentals, discounts on member events, and more.If you are someone who has shopped an REI sale in the past—whether it be for running shoes, camping equipment, travel gear, etc—then we recommend buying the $30 lifetime membership. Think about it: You can make that $30 back in savings today if you spend your 20 percent discount on an item that's over $150.
