Registration Service Kendras intended to help public, not privatise services, says Naidu

Chandrababu Naidu clarified that the Registration Service Kendras (RSKs) were being established solely to provide faster and more citizen-friendly registration services and it was by no means ‘privatisation’ of the Sub-Registrar Offices (SROs). The RSKs were intended to simplify the registration services and they would function on the lines of Passport Seva Kendras, he asserted. Addressing a review meeting on the Real Time Governance at the Secretariat near here on Monday, Mr. Naidu said while the objective of the RSKs was clear, a false propaganda had been unleashed that it was a step towards privatising the SROs. He instructed the officials to explain the facts to the public and highlight the benefits of the new system.He also promised document writers that alternative livelihood opportunities would be shown to them. Deepam subsidyThe Chief Minister told the officials to ensure that subsidies under the Deepam-2.0 scheme were credited to the beneficiaries in a systematic manner on predetermined dates and instructed the Civil Supplies and Finance Departments to have proper coordination in that regard.‘Habitual litigants'Referring to ‘habitual litigant petitioners’, the Chief Minister said complainants filing petitions without any genuine public interest should be identified and given counselling.Officials informed Mr. Naidu that 81 habitual litigant petitioners had been identified across the State, who had filed an average of 246 petitions each.Mr. Naidu instructed the officials to resolve non-financial grievances immediately and sort out issues with financial implications on a priority basis.Rainfall deficitOn the prevailing weather conditions, he noted that the State received 49% deficit rainfall so far this year due to the impact of El Niño and directed the officials to identify alternative strategies to mitigate the situation and encourage the farmers to cultivate drought-resistant dry crops.The Chief Minister also instructed the officials to take up Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission - Grameen (VB-G RAM G) works on a large scale and to integrate them with Jaladhara water conservation works.Emphasising the importance of proactive governance, Mr. Naidu said the government should continuously assess public feedback, refine administrative practices, anticipate emerging challenges in advance and take timely preventive measures rather than responding only after a problem arose.
