Multiple groups of lawfully present immigrants, including refugees and asylum seekers without a green card, will become ineligible for Medicaid and CHIP, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, starting Oct. 1. The changes take effect following the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” that President Donald Trump signed into law last year.
