The Red Sox announced a slew of roster moves ahead of their season finale against the Cubs. Catcher Mickey Gasper is headed to the 10-day IL with a biceps strain. Right-hander Tyron Guerrero is on the 15-day IL with a shoulder strain. Utilityman Nate Eaton and righty Wyatt Olds were recalled to take their spots. Boston also activated righty Tanner Houck from the 60-day IL. He had Tommy John surgery last season. Houck will get the start today in his return to the majors. Outfielder Eli White was moved to the 60-day IL to clear a 40-man spot for Houck, while Jedixson Paez was optioned to create room with the big-league club.
