Mandatory Credit: Daniel Kucin Jr.-Imagn Images Adley Rutschman is set for his Boston Red Sox debut on Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Dylan Cease. Rutschman was acquired last week at the MLB trade deadline from the Baltimore Orioles in a seven-player trade. He played two games at Triple-A Worcester on a rehab assignment before the Red Sox and was 1-for-5 with two RBIs. Rutschman, 28, went on the injured list on July 20 with inflammation in his left wrist. He was added to the Boston roster on Tuesday. An All-Star this season, Rutschman was batting .251 with eight home runs and 47 RBIs in 67 games for Baltimore. The three-time All-Star is a career .254 hitter with 69 home runs and 277 RBIs in five seasons and 572 games for the Orioles. The former No. 1 overall pick, Rutschman joins a Red Sox team with a 27-7 record since the start of July despite a glaring void at catcher. He is 6-for-25 against Toronto this season, which includes a 4-for-4 game with five RBIs on June 5. Against Cease, Rutschman is 2-for-6 with a double and four walks in 10 plate appearances. --Field Level Media
