The procedure was performed by Dr. Matthew Leibman at Newton-Wellesley Surgery Center in Wellesley, Mass. Casas, 26, started the season the injured list while recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon in May 2025. He sustained an abdominal injury during spring training and wrist inflammation while trying to work his way back. Boston did not provide a timeline for the return of the former first-round draft pick, who is currently on the 60-day injured list. Casas has batted .241 with 45 homers and 120 RBIs in 251 career games over parts of four seasons with Boston (2022-25) since being drafted 26th overall in 2018. --Field Level Media
