His BMW was eventually seized by police after he was involved in a crash in September 2023. The investigation revealed a note on his phone with a fabricated story about the collision — claiming it was another driver’s fault and that they had left the scene. A search of the car’s computer found it recorded speeds of over 107mph eight times in a year. Charlton, 32, was charged with ten dangerous driving offences and four of perverting justice for arranging for others to take penalty points for him.
