Readers Write: attack on MTC conductor condemned, preventive measures sought

Recently, I came across a newspaper article about a group of students assaulting a conductor of a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus plying from Iyyappathangal to Royapuram.The students were traveling on the footboard. The conductor requested them to come inside to close the doors. They refused to comply and continued to travel on the footboard.The students subsequently argued with the conductor and attacked him. This incident is highly condemnable. MTC should take a lesson from this. MTC should take serious note of this incident, increase the frequency of bus services during rush hour, especially that of students’ special buses, and ensure police personnel are deployed to protect its crew members and the public.(B.
