Rashmika Mandanna to play MS Subbulakshmi; Anirudh Ravichander to compose music

Rashmika Mandanna and MS Subbulakshmi | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement Actor Rashmika Mandanna is all set to play MS Subbulakshmi, the late legendary Carnatic singer and Bharat Ratna recipient, in an upcoming biopic. The film is set to be launched tomorrow, September 16, in Chennai, on the singer’s 110th birth anniversary.The biopic is set to be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, known for helming titles such as Jersey and Kingdom. Interestingly, ace composer Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the music for the biopic. Other details regarding the cast and crew are yet to be announced.“Bringing a legend of such stature to the silver screen has been a journey of immense perseverance. Veteran actor-producer-director Kamal Haasan will grace the event as the chief guest. The event will feature a live performance of the singer’s songs by The Indian Choral Ensemble.
