Rangers boss Derek McInnes reignites feud with Celtic coach in furious touchline rammy during Old Firm derby

DEREK MCINNES became involved in a furious touchline spat with a Celtic coach during today’s Old Firm derby clash at Parkhead. After Rangers’ win at Ibrox in the Premier Sports Cup last week, this time it was the turn of Celtic to be the hosts. McInnes was enraged by the decision to penalise Manny Fernandez with a booking for a pull on Camilo Duran outside the box. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! The Gers boss initially took his frustration out on the fourth official but then Martin O’Neill and Mark Fotheringham stepped in from the opposing dugout. He held up two and then three and four fingers, perhaps hinting that Fernandez shouldn’t have been booked for what was his first foul of the day. McInnes and Fotheringham then slung a few intense verbals towards one another, squaring up to one another before O’Neill got in between them. After they were separated, referee John Beaton came over to the sideline and showed both men a yellow card. McInnes and Fotheringham have history of rowing on the touchline, having had a bust-up in a January fixture between the Hoops and Hearts last season. The game itself took a while to kick into life in contrast to the action at the dugouts.
