Race 4 with Aamir Khan? Producer Ramesh Taurani sets the record straight

Producer Ramesh Taurani has dismissed reports claiming that Aamir Khan has been cast as the lead in Race 4. Taurani clarified that the casting for the fourth instalment of the popular franchise has not been finalised yet.Earlier reports claimed that the 61-year-old actor had recently heard the script for Race 4 and given his go-ahead to the makers. However, Taurani, in a statement on Instagram, refuted the speculation and urged people not to believe or circulate unverified reports about the film’s casting.“We would like to clarify that the cast of Race 4 has not yet been finalized. We sincerely request the media and social media pages to refrain from speculation and from engaging with or circulating any unverified or false news regarding the cast. Once the cast is finalized, we will make an official announcement from our end (sic),” his statement read.This isn’t the first time Race 4 has sparked casting speculation. Earlier in January, reports suggested that Akshaye Khanna, whose character was killed off in Race, could return for the fourth instalment. However, producer Ramesh Taurani dismissed the buzz at the time, telling HT City, “No, we have not approached Akshaye. There was no scope at all.” When asked whether the makers were considering reworking the plot to bring his character back, Taurani had firmly ruled it out, saying, “There is no thought about getting him. His character gets into an accident in the first movie; his track ended there, and it will remain at that.”Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff have also been linked to the project, with reports claiming that both actors have heard the script narration.
