Thankfully, for most of us, a typo in an important document or a misplaced decimal point on a spreadsheet can be discreetly dealt with. However, for those who make their money on live TV, gaffes can be an awfully awkward (and public) experience. And nothing proves this more than when QVC host Toni Brattin inadvertently named a sex act while trying to sell a $100 wig. Poor Toni was just trying to point out the lovely wave pattern in the hair piece when she said: ‘It looks like you went and got a blow job.’ Realising her mistake, she quickly corrected herself and said: ‘A blowout…’ but it was too late, the world had already heard her mistake. Her QVC co-host then attempted to get things back on track, telling viewers: Alright, so, here’s what’s happening today, we’re having a huge beauty sale.” However, Toni was clearly still chuckling to herself and fell to her knees, melting into the ground as she did so, to avoid distracting viewers from the beauty sale. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. On X @Cassetta13 joked: ‘Live TV still hits different…“It looks like you went and got a blow job at your… a blowout at your Salon.” She said it. Straight up. Then tried to keep going like nothing happened while the whole set was dying.’ Caption: Shocking moment QVC host Toni Brattin blurts out sex act live on air then collapses to the floor in humiliationCopyright: QVC @sage1411added: ‘A blow job? That was some slip of the tongue.’ Meanwhile @Xavier_ThatsAll laughed: ‘She couldn’t even turn around. I can’t blame her.’ Toni isn’t the only TV host to make an embarrassing mistake during a live TV broadcast. Who could forget that time BBC newsreader Simon McCoy appeared to present the news holding what appeared to be a ream of printer paper. Supposedly, he had confused the paper for his iPad just before broadcast and just went with it. ‘This morning as Simon McCoy was preparing to introduce this story, instead of picking up his tablet to hold as he went to air, he mistakenly picked up a ream of paper that was sitting next to it,’ a BBC spokesperson said at the time. ‘In the rush of live news, he didn’t have an opportunity to swap the items, so simply went with it.’ Deals of the Day Parents can save up to 30% on Kickers school shoes ahead of the new term The back-to-school hack that's helping parents avoid queues and sold-out sizes Could your hair be wavy rather than straight?
