An influx of tourists is causing massive traffic problems across the Wakatipu Basin, the mayor of the Queenstown-Lakes District says.In response, the council was setting up a mayoral taskforce on reducing congestion and was also asking the community to contribute ideas to help in the short term, mayor John Glover said.The network had reached a tipping point, with a drive that once took 10 minutes now taking 90, he said.Visitors had been commenting about it on social media, he said, and those living in new housing developments were struggling to get on to the state highway.
