A POPULAR supermarket has slashed the price of its Quality Street tub, making it one of the cheapest places to pick the treat up. Tesco was originally charging Clubcard shoppers £4.50 for the purple tubs, but whittled the price down further after its rival revealed the deal yesterday. The offer is running until September 29, while Sainsbury’s is running until October 6. Asda slashed the price of the tins to £4 over the weekend, but the offer has now expired with the price now set at £5.72. Meanwhile, Morrisons, is charging £4.95 when you scan your More Card. Supermarkets tend to run offers on chocolate and other sweets in the run-up to Christmas so it is always worth keeping your eyes peeled for further drops. Sainsbury’s has also slashed the price of its Cadbury Heros and Roses tubs from £6.50 to £4.95, when you scan your Nectar card. Most read in Money Tesco is charging £5.25 for the tubs when you scan your Clubcard as opposed to £7. It comes as the famous festive chocs have shrunk in size in recent years. Quality Street has been reduced from 600g to 550g, with chocolates going down from approximately 63 chocolates to 57. Meanwhile, tubs of Roses, Heroes and Celebrations have reduced by up to 14 per cent from 2025. Chocolate makers have blamed economic pressures and higher costs for the change. Comment now
