Qatar parents honoured with roses in back-to-school campaign

Qatar’s education ministry distributed 6,000 roses to parents across 103 schools as part of a campaign promoting greater parental involvement in children’s daily school journeys.Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education distributed 6,000 roses to parents across 103 schools as part of the newly launched ‘Take Your Children to School’ campaign, launched by the Ministry of Social Development and Family to coincide with the start of the new academic year.The symbolic gesture was intended to show appreciation for parents who took their children to school and shared the start of their school day with them.The Education Ministry’s participation comes as part of its cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and Family, with both ministries seeking to support the family’s role as an essential partner in the educational process.The campaign aims to encourage greater parental presence and involvement in children’s daily lives, turning the daily journey to school into an opportunity for dialogue, bonding and building trust. It also seeks to help children feel psychologically and emotionally prepared to begin their school day positively.Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi, Director of the Public Relations and Communication Department at the Education Ministry, said the campaign’s wider purpose goes beyond the journey to school itself.She stressed the importance of parents being present in their children’s lives and sharing in their daily experiences, noting the impact this can have on developing their personalities and strengthening their sense of security, care and belonging.Al Mohannadi said the distribution of 6,000 roses was met with positive engagement from parents and schools, reflecting the campaign’s message about the importance of family presence in children’s lives.The ‘Take Your Children to School’ campaign will continue throughout the academic year through awareness content and interactive activities organised by the Ministry of Social Development and Family in cooperation with participating partners, with the aim of expanding its impact and strengthening parental involvement in children’s educational journey.
