Qatar calls for full Israeli withdrawal, unimpeded aid to Gaza at UNGA

The Minister of State for International Cooperation emphasized the need for a full Israeli withdrawal, unimpeded aid, alongside an international stabilization force in the Strip.Qatar has called for immediate action on the comprehensive peace plan for Gaza, pressing for a full Israeli withdrawal and the deployment of an international stabilization force.The demands were made by Minister of State for International Cooperation Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad during a high-level roundtable on Gaza’s early recovery. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York on Thursday.During the talks, Al Misnad pushed for “tangible progress” on the ground, stressing that early recovery efforts cannot be separated from the urgent, daily survival needs of the Palestinian people, calling for the safe and unimpeded delivery of aid.Pointing to UN Security Council Resolution 2803, the minister outlined the critical next phase of the peace roadmap. This includes dismantling military capabilities, empowering the National Committee for the Management of the Gaza Strip, and initiating widespread reconstruction.Minister Al Misnad also reaffirmed Doha’s ongoing mediation efforts with Egypt, Türkiye, and the United States to secure a lasting ceasefire.Highlighting the severe conditions inside the Strip, Al Misnad noted that fuel remains a critical lifeline for basic civil services. Over the past three years, Qatar has supplied Gaza with roughly 30 million liters of fuel, recently signing a new agreement with the UN to provide another 1.3 million liters.Qatari relief efforts are also propping up the local healthcare sector. The Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics in Gaza continues to treat tens of thousands of injured Palestinians and people with disabilities.Ultimately, Al Misnad noted, all international relief and recovery efforts must lead to the reunification of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza under a single, independent Palestinian state.
